Helping & Stewardship

At Clean Sweep, it is our goal to help those who need it most.  We provide many donated items, with client consent, to families and charities that most need them.  So when you clean out your unused items, we make sure that they go to someone or an organization who will put them to good use.

Humble Design

Humble Design is a group of home designers in the Metro Detroit area who assist families in need with obtaining suitable housing and also assist with all furnishings, design and home makeover activities.  Check out their website at: Our primary contact is Julie Nagle, Director.

Yatooma’s For the Kids Foundation

For the Kids helps families who have suffered the painful loss of a parent by providing professional and financial assistance, in addition to moral support along the way. Check out their website to find out ways you can help.

Open Hands Food Pantry

Clients regularly donate bags, food and toiletry items as well as winter coats to this charity located at St. John’s Episcopal Church at 11 Mile & Woodward in Royal Oak, MI

Ways You Can Get Involved

Clean Sweep does not charge for charitable deliveries of grocery bags and food items to Open Hands, but we recommend a visit there on a Saturday morning to volunteer.  It’s easy, safe, and a great way to give back to the community.

For the Kids helps families all the time with sudden loss of a parent.  If you are inclined to help out a family, give them a call and see where your resources can best be put to use.

Humble Design loves volunteers!  As an example, a Clean Sweeper had a 50th birthday last year and all gifts were donated to Humble Design.  Then the entire group went to make over a home!  It is as rewarding as it is fun.

These are just a few ideas – Get Creative!  You CAN make a difference!
